Here are a few steps to help you choose.

Start with the simple questions. Where will the piano stand - in the living room, the children's room, a classroom? Who will play it, and how much? And for how long do you want it? Home rental is a monthly plan, and a piano for a single day or a weekend is an event rental.

1. Budget

Home rental from our store comes with no commitment, and a clear monthly payment. Current prices appear on the rental page. If you decide to buy, part of the rent can be credited toward the purchase price - up to six months, as agreed. We will gladly go over moving and tuning with you too. Details: piano rental.

2. Type of piano

An acoustic upright gives live sound, the touch of real hammers and a wide dynamic range, and the hands practise on an action that transfers easily to any other piano. A digital piano allows playing on headphones at any hour, volume control and a connection to a computer, and is ready to play without tuning.

If you want both worlds, you can get to know a silent piano, an acoustic piano with a headphone mode. You can also think about the brand, the colour that suits your home, and the size that suits the room.

3. A place at home

Even before your visit, measure the wall you chose with a tape measure and leave about half a metre in front of the piano for the bench and the player. Most uprights are about 1.46 to 1.54 metres wide, and a digital piano is more compact. Choose an interior wall, away from a sunny window and the air conditioning draft. Send us the measurements of the door and hallway, lift or stairs, and we will plan the move. 4. Play before you choose

At the store and gallery at 28 Ben Atar you play several pianos one after another, upright and digital, low and tall, and tell us who will play and how. A child starting out and an adult returning to playing sometimes love different pianos, and that is part of the fun of choosing. That way the piano that comes to you suits the player, how often they play and the room. You can also bring the piano teacher, who will help you choose according to the student's stage and what they love to play.

5. When the piano arrives

On moving day the piano arrives wrapped and is placed where you chose. Once it has settled, one to two weeks after arrival is the time for tuning, as agreed. Throughout the period, keep the humidity stable, play as much as you like, and you can always write to us with any question - about the piano, the tuning or the next step.
